Wholesale Operations Manager

A luxury beauty brand is looking to hire a Wholesale Operations Manager to be based in London.

The role

As Wholesale Operations Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of the Wholesale Operations team, providing guidance to team members to ensure that they are working proactively to provide excellent customer service.

Your key responsibilities are:

Client Relationships

  • Build customer relationships and effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Daily communication with key accounts.
  • Review contracts and order fulfilment process for new customers
  • Play a key part in new account/territory openings.
  • Daily monitoring of 3PL activity.

Strategy and Commercial Awareness

  • Provide report shipping performance vs targets to Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop the longer-term wholesale operations strategy alongside the Operations Director.
  • Manage customer credit and limit issues with the Finance and Sales Teams.
  • Oversee the invoicing process.

Delivery

  • Ensure that all sales orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Set up customer EDI systems.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure that POS is kept in stock.
  • Be the go-to person in relation to any customs and shipping issues.
  • Take an active role in the full annual stock take and monthly cycle counts.

Business Development

  • Work closely with the Merchandising, New Product Development, Communications, Sales and Design teams.
  • Keep up to date with international shipping regulations.

People

  • Develop skills of the Operations and Management teams, conducting performance reviews and owning performance metrics within appraisals.

How you’ll dazzle us

Our ideal candidate has experience in a similar role, coupled with proficiency in a Wholesale ERP system. Your analytical skills and data-driven approach, along with a strong grasp of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential. A deep understanding of import and export regulations is paramount, as is your ability to foster effective communication and build strong relationships internally and externally.

Your problem-solving, organisational, and detail-oriented skills are crucial for managing the complexities of the business. A solid understanding of logistics, customer margins, and a proactive stance towards implementing change for efficiency are also key. Proven customer relationship management skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a genuine ambition to succeed and make a positive impact are required.
